Tabuliq quality checks before you export a spreadsheet

A checklist for reviewing receipt OCR results before downloading Excel, CSV, or JSON data for expenses and bookkeeping.

The fastest receipt OCR workflow is not the one that pretends every scan is perfect. It is the one that makes review quick enough that you actually do it.

Before you export receipt data to Excel or CSV, use a short quality check. It catches the mistakes that matter most for reimbursement, bookkeeping, and tax records.

Check the money fields first

Look at subtotal, tax, total, and tendered amount. These values often sit close together on the receipt, and a bad photo can merge them or split them in the wrong place.

If the total is correct, the rest of the receipt is easier to trust. If the total is wrong, review the source image before using the export.

Make sure item rows stay above totals

Line items should appear before subtotal, tax, and total. If the export puts totals before item rows, the structure is no longer following the receipt. Sorting by OCR position helps keep the spreadsheet close to the original document.

Watch for cropped dates and payment details

Dates, terminal IDs, approval numbers, and card endings are often near the bottom of the receipt. If the original photo cuts off the bottom edge, the spreadsheet may look clean but still miss important audit details.

Export only clean data

Your downloaded file should not include OCR tokens, prompts, or debug logs. Those details are useful while building the tool, but the person using the spreadsheet needs the receipt data, not the machinery behind it.
